Safe Routes To School Reauthorization

Dear Senator Alpert:

On behalf of the Mountain View City Council, I am pleased to offer our support of the Safe Routes to School reauthorization bill, SB 1087.

The safety of children is of great importance to the City, and the improvements funded by Safe Routes to School grant program have improved safety in school zones for children across California.

Mountain View has been the recipient of two Safe Routes to School grants, which funded the construction of a number of bicycle- and pedestrian-related improvements in the vicinity of public and private schools throughout the City.
